The Manzano Mountain Arts Council is beginning an effort to create a perpetual art exhibit throughout Torrance County called Everything, Everywhere, Art in Torrance County. The exhibit would span the breadth and width of the county capturing our art scene where it’s at, seen, and made, by the artists in our community. The MMAC will host a limited database of Art, Artists, and Art spaces in Torrance County at no cost and available to the public on their website.
In order to obtain a better sense of artists, their artistry, and opportunities to view and enjoy art we are collecting basic information to publish on the website. (Name, contact information, medium, type of art space, location, and hours) It would be free and accessible to the public.
Art means many things to many people; fine art, fiber art, performing art, musical art, metal art, wood art, paper art, sculpture, murals, digital art, film, theatre art and just about anything you can put the word “art” behind…having made something! There are so many public spaces already exhibiting art indoors and outdoors we could really use a few tips on where to find them. Do you know of some public art that needs to be tracked down and placed into the exhibit like murals, paintings, or sculptures held by government offices or private entities. We would like to know where those treasures are hidden too! Shoot me an email.
Perhaps you are an artist or maybe you have a space where you show your art or someone else’s. Maybe you would like to show art in your own space, or you have a studio? Maybe you know a restaurant that is showing art, or should be, or someone else who should be in the exhibit (the list!) Maybe you know a cool place to go find great art in Torrance County and we all need to know about it. Drop me a line so I can check it out or if you just want a little more information. There is nothing more to do or commitment to be made, just get listed!
